1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. This policy covers our public website and the Auto Insights portal, which are served from the same address. We use cookies to keep you signed in to the portal, to keep sign-in secure and to understand which pages of our website are useful.
The portal keeps its short-lived access token in the page's memory only. It is never written to cookies, local storage or any other storage on your device, and it is gone when you close the tab.
2. Your consent
Strictly necessary cookies are set automatically, because signing in cannot work without them. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of the website or at the foot of the portal's menu, and withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected by cookies.

The four sign-in cookies other than autoinsights.refresh are set only while you are signing in, and the three whose names begin .AspNetCore only when you sign in with a Microsoft account. The two Google Analytics cookies are set on our website and the portal only once you have accepted non-essential cookies.
5. Third parties
Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, which processes the data as our processor under Google's data processing terms and may not use it for its own purposes. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, and our website loads it with Google signals and ad personalisation switched off. Google may process this data outside the United Kingdom; see the international transfers section of our privacy policy for the safeguards that apply. Our website does not embed third-party advertising, social media pixels or comment widgets.
6. Managing cookies
- Use the cookie settings link in the site footer to change your consent.
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its privacy settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you signing in.
- Clearing your browser storage also clears your recorded consent, so the banner will appear again.
